During Monday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild forward Connor Dewar scored his first career NHL goal.

Dewar had a very strong night, as he not only scored this sweet goal but also added an assist. Now, in 11 games on the season, the rookie has a goal and two helpers. From here, he will be aiming to carry over this momentum to Minnesota’s upcoming games.

Dewar was selected by the Wild with the 92nd overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. At the AHL level with the Iowa Wild, his production has continued to improve. In 32 games last season, he had 12 goals and 11 assists. However, this season he truly took that next step, as he scored six goals and had 11 points in just 12 games. Time will tell if he ends up back with Iowa, but he is making a case to stay with Minnesota.

Alas, congrats on your first goal, Connor!
