Thursday night’s game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators had it all – scoring, fighting, and even a penalty shot!  The Penguins eventually won the game 6-4 thanks largely to a 3-point night from defenseman Mike Matheson (2 G, 1 A) and 39 saves from Tristan Jarry.  The Penguins got off to a great start with winger Dominik Simon scoring the first goal of the game less than five minutes after the puck was dropped.  A few shifts later, Penguins center Brian Boyle laid a hit on Sens defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker, which Senators winger Austin Watson took exception to, dropping the gloves with Boyle directly after the hit:

Later in the game, Senators Captain Brady Tkachuk fought John Marino with just seconds left in the 3rd period.  The next matchup between these two teams takes place on February 10th in Ottawa, and you can bet a few extra pairs of eyeballs will be watching the potential fireworks as a result of last night’s action-packed game.
