Team Canada’s Justin Sourdif (24) battles Team Czechia’s David Moravec (8) during the International Ice Hockey Federation world junior championships at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Dec. 26, 2021.

Tickets go on sale at noon Tuesday for the August do-over of the IIHF 2022 world junior championship.

And there’s a major difference from the 2021 original ticket sale when two packages for Edmonton and one package for Red Deer were created and sold using a lottery format and totally sold out in hours.

The entire tournament ended up being held without fans in Rogers Place, of course.

The 2022 do-over was cancelled by the IIHF due to positive tests, mostly in Red Deer. The IIHF was encouraged to do an August reboot, again with all games in Edmonton, but organizers have decided to restrict ticket package sales for openers to Canadian round robin games in one package and potential Canada playoff games including all medal round games in another.
