Calgary Flames' Tyler Toffoli takes a shot against the Dallas Stars during the second period of Game 6 at American Airlines Center on May 13, 2022 in Dallas.

Tyler Toffoli went to the Calgary Flames, Ben Chiarot to the Florida Panthers, Artturi Lehkonen to the Colorado Avalanche and Brett Kulak to the Edmonton Oilers.

While it will take a few seasons to judge how Hughes did on those trades, the four players he dealt away have all advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

In exchange for Toffoli, Hughes got forward Tyler Pitlick, forward prospect Emil Heineman, a conditional first-round pick at this year’s NHL Draft and a fifth-round pick in 2023.

In exchange for Chiarot, Hughes got forward prospect Ty Smilanic, a fourth-round pick at this year’s draft and a first-round pick in 2023.

In exchange for Lehkonen, Hughes got defenceman Justin Barron and a second-round pick at the 2024 draft.
