“I’ve met a few guys here before, four or five on this team … Connor (McDavid) and Cody (Ceci) at the worlds and I played with Cody in Ottawa (Senators) and Tyson Barrie in Colorado,” said Brassard. “But being 34 years old, it also makes it easier because I have experience in the league. Pretty nice building here, pretty nice room, first-class organization. (Brett) Kulak and I were talking about that last night.”
Nugent-Hopkins laughed when suggested Brassard has the’ “hello, I’m Derick” handshake down after being on so many different teams.
“He’s been around … coming to a new team, I’m sure he’ll adjust pretty quickly. I’ve played against him a fair bit with him being around as long as he has,” said Nugent-Hopkins.
