The Toronto Maple Leafs will be rocking some new, old threads when they take on the Buffalo Sabres in the Heritage Classic on Mar. 13 in Hamilton, Ontario.

The Maple Leafs unveiled their special jerseys during the first intermission of their game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night, presenting a sweater that brings fans back to the 1920s when the team was dubbed the Toronto Arenas.

The jersey opts for a more simplistic look than in years past, featuring only a large white “T” prominently on the dark blue chest. Displayed faintly behind the “T” is the “ARENAS” namesake, barely visible to the naked eye, offering a crisp new look.

This is a departure from the Leafs’ previous Arenas-style variant, which featured a “T” situated in the middle of the word, and led to many dubbing it the “areTnas” sweater.

With a clean-cut style, these jerseys seem to have become fan favorites immediately upon release. And under the bright lights of Tim Hortons Field, they’ll be on full display.
