Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe wasn’t shy with the media after the team’s blowout loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night. Keefe called out his team’s performance as the Maple Leafs continue to find themselves in the midst of a stretch of inconsistency.

The Sabres snapped a six-game losing streak in Toronto and Keefe had some bold comments about what transpired:

It was terrible from start to finish. In terms of how we played with the puck, we were really careless and didn’t have much happening. Offensively, we were abysmal. All four lines. (As for the first line) – That’s as bad as they’ve played in quite some time.

The line of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and Michael Bunting were a combined -4 rating and only generated four shots on goal. Meanwhile the Maple Leafs are finding out their goaltending tandem of Petr Mrazek and Jack Campbell may not be enough to get the job done as the team continues to give up too many goals. The crease has certainly a hot topic that’s starting to brew some headlines in Toronto.

Another area of focus has been the blue line for the Maple Leafs and Wednesday night’s game against the Sabres saw a first pairing of Morgan Rielly with Rasmus Sandin. A duo that Keefe was not impressed with and mentioned would likely be split up for their next opponent. Here’s what you missed in case you’re wondering what the Maple Leafs head coach is so worked up about:
