A changeup in leadership brings in Kent Hughes, who’s known Harris personally forever, and the tune immediately changes to, he’ll definitely be signing here. As soon as Northeastern is eliminated, Harris inks a deal to be a Canadien, and now he makes his debut with the team against the defending Stanley Cup champions in the Tampa Bay Lightning, in a Stanley Cup Final rematch.

It’s easy to give Hughes or Jeff Gorton all the credit, though I’m sure the amount of bodies moved out on defence was also an enticing opportunity for Harris, he has a good shot at earning a roster spot next season he might not get elsewhere. Not to disregard the influence of new management, but every decision has layers to it.

Puck drop is at 7 pm. (City TV, SN East, TVA Sports, BSSUN, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM)
