The past week gave fans plenty of content to get into from around the hockey world as we bid adieu to February:

Catfish made it to the Stadium Series game in Nashville

Saturday night saw the Nashville Predators host its first Stadium Series game, and the full culture of the franchise made its way to Nissan Stadium.

Catfish tossing is a big thing in Smashville, so it was only fitting to have Pekka Rinne – the only player to have their number retired by the franchise, and having done so just days earlier – do the honors.

Judging by his reaction on the toss, it didn’t seem to go as planned.

The fish was unavailable for comment on the toss.

No power plays? No problem for the Leafs

What a night.

On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs combined for an eye-popping 17 goals in Toronto’s 10-7 win over the Red Wings.

The game was the highest-scoring in the league since 2011 and saw the Maple Leafs reach the 10-goal mark for the first time since a 10-2 win over the Boston Bruins in 2007.

These stats are amazing but they’re not among one of the more shocking ones. Not a single goal the Leafs scored came on the man advantage. Not one.

The Leafs became the first team in the NHL to score 10 goals in a game with none of them coming on the power play since the Calgary Flames did the same in its 13-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks in 1993.

Absolutely nuts.

The walk-off celebration for a shootout winning goal is amazing

Jeff Mallott’s shootout winner gave his Manitoba Moose the win over the Chicago Wolves but his celebration was the ultimate display of getting the point across.

Celebrating with your team? That’s so two weeks ago.

Or maybe he was just trying to leave Canada Life Centre as soon as possible to beat post-game traffic?
