The Arizona Coyotes are shopping Christian Fischer, according to Elliotte Friedman
Fischer has one year left on his current contract and will be a restricted free agent this summer. The Coyotes are expected to be major sellers at the deadline this year, so it isn’t too surprising to hear that the 24-year-old has now entered the rumor mill himself.
After having a 33-point campaign in 79 games with the Coyotes during the 2017-18 season, there was some belief that he could blossom into a top-six forward. Yet, since then, he has not come close to replicating that sort of production. In 40 games this season, he has three goals and five assists.
Although Fischer may not be much of an offensive threat, he definitely works well as a bottom-six or even depth forward. With him still being young and under team control this offseason, there could be some teams interested in bringing him in. Perhaps a change of scenery could help him find his previous form.
It will be intriguing to see if Fischer finds himself a new home before the season’s end.
