Canadiens prospect Sean Farrell took time out from his college season at Harvard to represent the United States at the Beijing Olympics.

Farrell, who took time out from the college season to represent the United States at the Beijing Olympics, scored Harvard’s first goal in the second period and assisted on a power-play goal by Casey Dornbach at 16:28 of the third period to close the gap to one goal.

Minnesota State outshot No. 15 Harvard 40-22, but managed only four shots over the final 15 minutes as they dropped into a defensive shell after Czech native Ondrej Pavel scored to give Mjnnesota State a 4-2 lead. Minneasota State will meet either North Dakota or Notre Dame for a place in the Frozen Four.

Blake Biondi, another Canadiens fourth-round draft pick in 2020, was held off the scoresheet, but was a plus-1 as No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth blanked No. 14 Michigan Tech 3-0 in Loveland, Col. Minnesota-Duluth will meet the winner of a late game between UMass-Lowell and Denver in the regional final Saturday.
